ABOUT ME:
Orlee Stekel-Perna registered yoga teacher 200 hours (RYT 200)

Yoga benefits people's physical and mental health. Yoga also helps with stress management, which is an ongoing struggle for most people. Improved flexibility can lead to decreased injuries and pain levels.

My values about yoga revolve around accessibility, feeling welcomed, and experiencing success in class. Success looks different for each individual. I have always been drawn towards teaching beginners yoga and therapeutic yoga to help people with physical limitations.

I have been teaching therapeutic yoga in a chiropractor's office for the past 10 years. I incorporate my values of everyone having access to yoga and experiencing success into my classes. Therapeutic yoga focuses on the healthy alignment of the back, neck, knees and shoulders. Many modifications are given to help create success for each student.

My interest in movement began with Pilates and I became a certified Pilates instructor in October, 2002. I taught Pilates for three years, but became intrigued by Yoga and began taking classes in 2001. In 2006 I began my first yoga teacher training and have taken 4 yoga teacher trainings and many workshops totaling over 600 hours in training. I have studied extensively with Ellen Saltonstall, who specializes in yoga for arthritis, therapeutics, and bodymind ballwork. Other teachers I have studied with extensively include Vishali Varga and Mitchel Blier.
